Try To Prove To Me That Utah Is Not The Best Team In The Nation . . .
. . . and I will defeat your argument. Go ahead, try.
Obviously we still have two bowls remaining, but right now I would have Utah pencilled in as my #1.
The SEC is not as strong this year as it usually is, and the Big 12 has been proven vastly overrated. Either way, Florida and Oklahoma each have one loss. So I don't care about the outcome of the BCS championship game.
Now if Florida pastes Oklahoma in dramatic fashion, they should be #1. But it would have to be at least as dominating performance as Utah displayed against Alabama.
Go ahead, try.
No one is saying Air Force is a "really good team." but that is not a gimme game on the road.
Oklahoma does not impress me, and Ole Miss exposed Florida with a kid at QB, so why couldn't Utah "hang" with Florida?
Normally I would not make this argument. Didn't make this argument during Utah's last unbeaten season under Urban Meyer. But this season there simply is no dominate team that you can point to and use any objective evidence to argue they are better than Utah. Florida is the closest, and again if Florida looks dominate over Oklahoma then the case is closed.

youre crazy if you think utah can hang with the likes of florida and oklahoma. i wont make an argument for the sake of not having to hear "well air force is a really good team."

Three. But they also played TCU and BYU, which are better than every team but one team in the Big 10, better than half of the Pac 10, and better than a ton of teams in the Big 12. Even Air Force and Colorado State are on par with the middle of the pack in many of the BCS conferences.
The term "BCS team" is meaningless.
Iowa State, Kansas State, Baylor and Nebraska were all BCS teams - whoop te doo.
And let's not even get started on the ACC and Big East.
Every team USC played in conference was a "BCS team" but are the likes of UCLA, Washington, Washington State really striking fear in their opponents?
Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi State and South Carolina are all "BCS teams," and TCU and BYU are better than them, and Colorado State and Air Force are in the mix there.
This attempt at an argument is a FAIL.
Next.

Well these are all interesting opinions Mr. Beasley, but you have still not demonstrated to me a good reason why Utah should not be #1. Yes, Oklahoma and Florida are great teams. Utah also appears to be a great team.
I am not a Utah fanboy, but seriously I am having difficulty coming up with a good reason why they should not be #1. I was hoping you would weigh in with your SEC expertise and give me a solid reason. You have disappointed me so far. Please try again.

wrong. id put them at #3. florida and oklahoma are great. could utah beat them? sure. you are kidding youself if you think utah played florida or oklahoma 10 times utah would win more than they lost. bama was and has been the most overrated team in college football this year. and i dont think the SEC was all that great this year. Auburn sucked, LSU sucked, Tenn sucked a big one. those 3 teams give bama fits every year. its unfortunate utah doesnt have a good chance to prove they are worthy of being number one, but face it, the top 2 teams play thursday night.
