Explain it to me like I'm not an irrational Cleveland sports fan.
The way I see it, LeBron did alot for the city of Cleveland and state of Ohio, in general. He never trashed the city or state. Far from it. I didn't see his special last night, but I feel pretty confident in saying he had alot of good things to say about Cleveland and the fans and that Cleveland is his home, etc etc.
Can someone explain to me what is different about this than any other guy leaving in free agency?
In fact, if anything LeBron's leaving is even more justified because the guy deserves a chance to play with other good players and have a chance for a title.
I mean, is there anyone really "to blame" in this situation, other than, perhaps, crappy Cleveland management that blew draft pick after pick and failed to acquire good pieces around LeBron?
And I have heard people say it was the ultimate "F U" for LeBron to announce he was leaving Cleveland "on national television." What difference does that make? Sure the 1 hour special deal was kind of attention whorish and tacky, but why is it perceived as some slap in cleveland's face? Probably the opposite is true. Probably part of why LeBron did the special was to give props to his home town and not just pack up and leave in the dead of night.
You know, like the REAL villain of Cleveland sports.
When I hear people say that LeBron may end up being as despised as Art modell, you know something is off.
Cleveland fans - get over it!
